Belief about Technology 1/29

I believe that technology does have a place in the classroom as long as there are some rules surrounding it. In my high school, after I graduated, each kid got their own lap top so they could do homework and get online at school. As soon as they got them they started down loading chat applications, playing games and doing almost everything that were NOT intended for the laptops. The school put locks on some websites so the students could only use them for so much. I think that technology is still really new in the classroom and it's going to take a while for all the kinks to get worked out. As time goes on, things will get sorted out and instead of being a hassle, technology will be helpful. As for cell phone, I don't think they're appropriate for the classroom. I think they're only for personal use and there is no need to send a text or call some one in the middle of the day. I think as long as there are rules about it, technology should be used in the classroom.

Technology

These problems are not all accurate to my life but I can obviously relate to most of the things that are being shown. It’s pretty scary to see all the hours counted out like that. Sometimes we need our computers for things but a lot of the time I get mad if mine won’t sign on to AOL. It’s mixed up.

I also thought it was interesting to hear about incorporating what students know and teaching them to learn new things. Like using their cell phones for sending and receiving text messages. Like always there are going to be those kids who don't have cell phones or don't text message but just just like student mold lesson plans to fit all types of kids, they can do the same for this.
